The Salon

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy at the Scottish Borders Campus, Galashiels.

Hairdressing students

The ‘state of the art’ salons at Borders College have been furnished with the latest equipment and commercial products, allowing students to learn the latest techniques and treatments.

Our Salons are open to the general public most days of the week during term time, where customers can enjoy a range of hair services and beauty therapy treatments.

Our stylists and therapists are well trained, but they are still students. Services and treatments may take longer so it is best to allow extra time when making an appointment. Please don’t hesitate to ask the receptionist how long to allow for the appointment.

Students are supervised by highly experienced Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy lecturers; their principal aim is to assess students on their practical skills in a realistic working environment and to ensure customers are completely satisfied with the service provided.

Customers are also providing a service to our students, giving them the opportunity to work with clients in a realistic setting, and this is reflected in the price of our services.

Please note No technical service will be carried out on children under the age of fourteen.

Skin tests must be carried out prior to colouring 24 – 48 hours before. If this is not done, the colouring service cannot take place.

Clients are respectfully reminded that the hairdressing services in which you partake is a learning situation for the students, which is reflected in the price and length of time services take.
