Welcome to Borders College
Diversity is an important aspect of everything we do here at the College. First and foremost, we encourage diversity with our student population; we encourage all-age education, appreciating that learning is a lifelong commitment that should be open to all who seek to study and grow. Whether you are leaving school, returning to learning, or striving to improve your skills and knowledge in the workplace, Borders College can help you to achieve your goals.
With a diverse student population comes a need for us to provide a broad variety of courses. From HND and HNC courses to apprenticeship, at both introductory and foundation levels, all offered in a wide range of subjects that will build a foundation and instil in you a drive to succeed within your chosen career. With diversity truly comes choice.
Our high-quality learning environment is diverse too, all aimed at providing the very best educational experience for our students. We have the Scottish Borders Campus in Galashiels, the Construction Hub at Tweedbank and the Hawick and Newtown St Boswells Campuses; the Hawick Campus is also home to our new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Hub. While we believe in the importance of a physical base to facilitate learning, we are also championing digital delivery, so all of our teaching is backed up by an online learning portal that can be accessed by both students and staff 24-7.
And finally, our staff. The diversity of their experience and knowledge is immeasurable but comes to the fore through the passionate and professional delivery of our courses. In addition to the lecturing team, we also have an army of support staff – all of whom have one aim in mind: to make your time at Borders College the best it can be, readying you for your next steps – whatever they may be.
All that leaves me to say is we look forward to receiving your application. However, if, as a life learner, you are looking for a more leisure-time learning opportunity, the diversity of our offering continues with our Community and Evening Classes Programme. Information on this programme can be found online on the College website, and is updated throughout the year.
