A transition to work programme for individuals, aged 16-29 years old, with additional needs and disabilities

Project Search

DFN Project SEARCH is a one-year internship programme based on an international model which originated in the Cincinnati Children's Hospital in the USA; supporting young people with additional barriers to employment, this program offers students with additional needs the opportunity to develop employability skills through internships working with a host employer. 

Students will work 4 days a week on rotation and experience three different rotations throughout the course.
 

  1. A one-year supported programme to assist individuals into paid employment
  2. Work experience in a live workplace
  3. Real life job skills
  4. Increased independence, self-esteem and confidence
  5. Individualised coaching and support from tutors, mentors, and a job coach
  6. Ongoing employability support after the programme
