This course is designed for young people with additional support needs, helping them transition into vocational areas of Further Education, employment, or volunteering. It encourages independent study where appropriate and focuses on career management skills and real-life work and volunteering opportunities.
The course timetable allows learners to build on their independence life skills and covers essential areas such as volunteering, health and well-being, independent living skills, first aid and hospitality. Learners are also encouraged to participate in full-time vocational areas to prepare for future studies. This course is ideal for those who would benefit from a more supportive learning environment.

National Certificate at SCQF Level 3
Delivery
Full-time 36 weeks, up to 3 days per week in College and 1 day per week on placement.

Entry requirements
This course is for young people, aged 16-21, who have received additional support for learning at school.
There are no specific pre-entry requirements beyond a willingness to study and fully engage as a learner at college. Applicants should be capable of working at SCQF Level 3 and at times, independently. Some practical subjects may also require a certain level of physical ability and fitness.
Referral are made following school transition review meetings. Referrals are also made through SDS (Skills Development Scotland). Direct applicantations can also be made by applying on this page.
