This National Progression Award (NPA) aims to enhance your understanding and abilities in areas like analyzing, evaluating, and applying knowledge related to psychological research, social behavior, and individual behavior.
Key areas covered include:
- Planning and conducting psychological research using appropriate methods while adhering to ethical and scientific standards.
- Understanding the role of research evidence in explaining both individual and social human behavior.
- Developing communication and numeracy skills relevant to the field of psychology.

Delivered at Scottish Borders Campus on Fridays, 10am - 2.30pm
Location
Entry requirements
Two National 5 awards including English, Science or Social Science at a level C or above.
Progression opportunities
The NPA in Psychology at SCQF level 6 is a recognised qualification and will give you a platform which may allow progression into further education.
This could help support your application to progress onto HNC Social Sciences, HNC Care and Administrative Practice or HNC Social Services.
