This course advances learners skills and knowledge in the hospitality industry and explores the scope of the industry, the career paths and job roles within it, and the employability skills that underpin them.

Students will study a variety of units that will provide candidates with the skills required in the kitchen environment and front of house.

They will be immersed in a simulated working environment, welcoming customers from the region for small gatherings and special events.

The SCQF Level 6 course in Professional Cookery and Hospitality is suitable for a wide range of candidates including those who have recently left school and adult learners returning to education.

Qualifications

Upon successful completion, candidates will achieve the following awards;

  • Diploma in Professional Cookery at SCQF Level 6

The course is full-time with delivery on campus as per service and preparation requirements, for 36 weeks.

Entry requirements

Learners would benefit from having attained the skills, knowledge and understanding from relevant qualifications in Hospitality at SCQF Level 5 or progressing from a college course in the same area.
