NPA - Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 6

Delivery

10am - 2.30pm Scottish Borders Campus

Location

Scottish Borders Campus. Any transport requirements will be arranged by the Schools Transport Team at Scottish Borders Council.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have or be working towards at least 2 National 5's including English. Applicants should be able to demonstrate values and principles relevant to working in care, such as kindness and empathy. Pupils should have a good level of written and spoken English. Ability to work with others, problem solve and a commitment to appropriate values is necessary.

Progression opportunities

On successful completion of this NPA, you can apply for the HNC in Childhood Practice or Social Services.

Career Prospects

Education, Health Workers and Social Services are all within the top five employing occupations in Scotland, and this is projected to continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.

This course could be the first step to a career within this sector including Early Learning and Childcare Practitioner, Primary School Teacher or working with parents and families.

Course Content

National Progression Award in Social Services Children and Young People both at SCQF level 6. Units include Safeguarding of Children and Young People, Play for Children and Young People, Communication with Children and Young People, Development of Children and Young People and Promote the wellbeing and safety of Children and Young People.
