This introductory course is tailored for those who aim to work in diverse health and social care environments, delivering vital support and care to individuals in need.
During the course, you will acquire essential knowledge and practical skills in areas such as patient care, communication, health and safety, and understanding human behavior.

SQA Units at SCQF Level 4 & 5
Delivery
Full-time 36 week course, 3 days per week in College/ online, 1 day per week on placement.The Level 4/5 comprises of lectures, group work, practical sessions, on-line resource self study and is delivered by vastly experienced professionals.
Location
Entry requirements
Three National 4 awards including English or other equivilant qualifications or experieince.
Additional Requirements:
- Interview: Applicants will be invited to attend an interview session.
- PVG Check: All students will be required to complete a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) form.
If English is not your first language, you should have a minimum of SQA ESOL National 5 or equivalent for NC/NQ courses, and ESOL Higher or equivalent for HNC/D courses.
Progression opportunities
Upon successful completion of this course, students could progress to our Health and Social Care SCQF Level 5 & 6 or Higher Social Services depending on overall performance during the course.
Career Prospects
Opportunities in the social, health and child care fields, e.g. as a Care Assistant, support worker, healthcare assistant, communiity care assistant or Playgroup Assistant.
