This course will give you an introduction to this subject area and the basic skills necessary to progress onto further study in Computing, IT or another subject. Understanding techniques of Data Security, Digital forensics and Ethical Hacking is important in ensuring that learners are aware of their responsibilities within the virtual community. Students will have the opportunity the use industry tools and software to image memory and exploit vulnerable machines.
Qualifications
Upon successful completion, candidates will achieve the following awards;
- NPA Cyber Security at SCQF Level 5
Some of the units included cover topics such as Data Security, Ethical Hacking and Digital Forensics.
Delivery
The course is a schools link delivery on campus one day a week, for 28 weeks.

Entry requirements
Applications should have three relevant National 4 qualifications including one of Maths, Computing Science or Physics.
Applicants with no formal qualifications will be considered on an individual basis and their applications or enquiries are encouraged.

Applications will be reviewed by the curriculum team and candidates will be selected based on a detailed personal statement as supported by regional school partners.
