Coaching and Developing Sport - HND Year 2 (SCQF level 8)

This course further develops the skills and knowledge you'll need for a career in sports coaching. This course is only accessible to those who have completed year 1 of the HND Coaching & Developing Sport. The course builds on the knowledge covered in Year 1 and covers topics including Psychology, Event Management, Fitness Conditioning, Performance Coaching and much more.
Full-time students in Scotland may have their tuition fees covered, provided they meet residency requirements. Applications should be submitted to the relevant funding body. International students should consult our Student Finance Department finance@borderscollege.ac.uk
Qualifications
HND Year 2 in Coaching and Developing Sport at SCQF Level 8
Delivery
Full-time 36 week course, 3 days per week in College, delivered from August till June. Adequate development/performance coaching placement will also need to be completed (At least 100 hours over the year).
The course will be continually assessed through practical and theory based assessments.

Entry requirements
Successful completion of HND Year 1 Coaching and Developing Sport with 15 credits.
On successful entry to the course, the Borders College Sports Kit Bundle must be purchased. Orders will be taken during interview or during information days.
Progression opportunities
The College has articulation arrangements with some Scottish Universities to allow successful students to continue their higher education. Students can pursue degree-level courses at universities such as UWS, Stirling, Abertay, Napier, and Edinburgh.
We strongly recommend contacting universities directly to discuss potential progression routes.
