The Modern Apprenticeship in Care Services, Leadership and Management is a work based qualification delivered by direct observation and the production of a portfolio of evidence. Candidates are assigned an assessor who will support them through the delivery of this Modern Apprenticeship.

Qualifications

The course comprises of 4 mandatory units and 4 optional units.

The units cover the following areas:

  • Manage and Develop Yourself and Your Workforce Within Care Services
  • Lead and Manage Practice that Promotes the Safeguarding of Individuals
  • Lead and Manage Practice for Health and Safety in the Work Setting
  • Lead and Manage Effective Communication Systems and Practice.

4 optional units can be chosen from a range of options suited to the work place.To achieve the Modern Apprenticeship candidates must select (with the employer) appropriate Career Skills units at SCQF Level 8 or above to achieve a minimum of 20 credits.

Delivery

At your workplace - our Borders College Assessor will guide you every step of the way, visiting regularly and providing personalised tutoring and support. College premises in Borders & Edinburgh and other venues are often used for meeting up, or to access computer and library facilities. Start dates are all year round. We work with people individually therefore start dates are negotiable.

Scotland - candidates can be located in any area of Scotland
